The biggest adjustment, he says, has been learning to live with a schedule that no longer belongs entirely to him. The free afternoons once spent playing video games or hanging out with friends have become increasingly rare, making the moments in between work feel even more valuable.
When he does have time off, he gravitates toward the same close-knit group of friends he had long before fame. They spend afternoons at each other’s houses, playing games and catching up, routines that have remained unchanged despite everything else.
“My closest friends are still the same people. Being around them reminds me of who I am.”
Recognition has also become part of daily life. Going out now often means stopping for photos or exchanging greetings with supporters, something he considers more of a privilege than a burden.
For Heath, fame was only the beginning. Growing with it has been the greater challenge. The attention may be new, but the values that guide him, from his closest friendships to the gratitude he carries for every supporter, remain unchanged.
An action hero in the making
Acting has never felt like unfamiliar territory for the Filipino star. Martial arts training and stunt rehearsals became part of his everyday life, giving him an early appreciation for the work that goes into bringing a character to screen.
“I’ve always dreamed of becoming an action star. Doing something like Tom Cruise would be amazing.”
Growing up, Mission: Impossible was a favorite, and Tom’s commitment to action left a lasting impression. But Heath is equally drawn to roles that push him emotionally.
“If I wanted to surprise people, I’d probably choose someone who’s psychologically unstable, like the Joker. I think that would really challenge me as an actor.”
It’s a goal that mirrors how seriously he approaches his craft. Before filming, he spends time watching movies, researching his characters, and finding the emotional rhythm of each scene.
“I spend a lot of time studying. I watch movies, do research, and try to understand how to approach each scene emotionally.”
When a scene becomes especially demanding, he still turns to the person who first introduced him to acting. “I always ask my dad for advice,” he says. “Whenever I have a difficult or emotional scene, I ask him how he would approach it or how he gets into that mindset. Then I try different techniques until I find what works for me.”
The actor he hopes to share the screen with one day is another longtime inspiration: Alden Richards. “I’ve looked up to him ever since I was a kid,” Heath says. “I remember watching him growing up and thinking, ‘He’s so cool. I want to be like him someday.’ Hopefully, one day I’ll get the chance to work with him.”
His other main character
If acting is where he transforms into someone else, music is where he returns to himself. While audiences first embraced him as a television personality and actor, songwriting has become the most personal outlet in his growing creative career.
“With acting, I’m expressing myself through someone else’s character. Music is different because everything comes from my own experiences.”
As he prepares to release more music, Heath hopes listeners pay as much attention to the stories behind the lyrics as they do to the melodies.
“I want people to understand what I was feeling when I wrote the song. Every song has a story behind it, and I hope people can connect with those emotions.”
His sound has been shaped by artists who built careers on emotional honesty. Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, and Shawn Mendes remain among his biggest influences, artists whose songs became part of his childhood long before he imagined releasing music of his own.
“My dad always played Coldplay when I was growing up. Then I discovered Ed Sheeran when I was around seven years old, and later Shawn Mendes. Those were some of the first songs I learned on guitar.”
Keeping his head
Beneath that openness are the values he returns to long after filming wraps. Heath credits his parents for keeping him grounded, not only through discipline but through faith.
“They always remind me to keep God at the center of my life. Whether I’m successful or not, my relationship with God should never change.”
Alongside daily prayer and reading the Bible, it’s a lesson that has shaped the way he measures success. Equally important is another piece of advice they continue to repeat: stay humble.
“No matter who you’re with or what position you’re in, never let success get to your head,” he says.
Among the keepsakes he values most are the handwritten letters fans continue to send, each one serving as a reminder of the community that has grown alongside his career.
“Whenever I read them, I genuinely feel your love and support. They motivate me to keep working hard and remind me that there are so many people cheering me on.”
Next up: everything
For all the attention that now surrounds him, Heath insists there is still plenty of himself audiences haven’t seen. When not on set, he prefers spending downtime at home gaming alongside friends. He quips that if he ever decides to stream his gameplay, fans will witness a whole new side of his fierce competitiveness.
Looking ahead, his promise to supporters is a simple one. “I’ll never stop giving my best,” he says.
“I’ll keep working hard, improving myself, and giving everything I have in every project. I want to make my family proud, entertain people, and hopefully make everyone happy through what I do.”
There is a tendency to place enormous expectations on young stars, especially those who find success as quickly as Heath has. Yet what makes his trajectory interesting isn’t simply the pace of his rise.
It’s the sense that he’s approaching every new opportunity with genuine curiosity, eager to learn rather than rushing to prove he already has all the answers.
