This Watch Brand Marks a New Chapter with the VANAC Collection
King Seiko VANAC merges Japanese craftsmanship and intergenerational legacy in a collection built for both collectors and contemporary wearers
Legacy and craftsmanship
King Seiko, Seiko’s flagship collection showcasing high-grade Japanese mechanical watchmaking, continues to define craftsmanship and heritage with the VANAC line.
First introduced in 1970 and reimagined in 2021, King Seiko VANAC combines traditional mechanical expertise with modern finishing and design innovation, reflecting both the brand’s history and its forward-looking vision.
Powered by the Caliber 8L45, the watches offer a longer power reserve and robust construction. A see-through case back reveals the movement at work. Limited editions, including the brown SLA089J1 with 700 pieces and the ice-blue SLA091J1 Seiko Boutique Exclusive, underscore the collection’s appeal to discerning collectors.

Design inspired by Tokyo
The collection features three Tokyo-inspired dial colors: SLA083J1 Evening Twilight (purple), SLA085J1 Midnight (navy), and SLA087J1 Sunrise (silver). A signature 12 o’clock index and faceted three-sided minute hand enhance legibility and visual depth.
Heritage in dialogue
Seiko Philippines highlighted heritage and intergenerational dialogue through a campaign featuring Anthony and Donny Pangilinan. The father and son represent two dimensions of King Seiko VANAC: Anthony embodies steady leadership and depth, while Donny reflects modern drive and confidence.
Their collaboration reinforces the watch’s positioning as a timepiece rooted in tradition yet aligned with contemporary expression.
The campaign’s launch culminated in an intimate celebration with family, friends, media, and watch enthusiasts, where Seiko introduced the SJE121J1, a limited-edition model marking Seiko’s 145th anniversary. With only 800 pieces produced, the SJE121J1 features warm gold accents and a textured dial inspired by early Seiko pocket watches, combining commemorative detail with collector value.
Forward-looking vision
Karl Dy, President of Timeplus Corporation, says the VANAC line is for those who value tradition while living with a modern mindset. Looking ahead, Seiko Philippines plans additional releases for 2026, including the SLA093J1 and SLA095J1, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to precision and design.
King Seiko VANAC illustrates the enduring relevance of mechanical watchmaking, combining historical craftsmanship with contemporary innovation while celebrating the values of legacy and collectibility.
