These Thai Superstars Got Soaked in Style at Songkran

At ICONSIAM’s recent Songkran celebrations, actor Win Metawin channeled royalty, wearing traditional Thai garb decked with an embellished brooch and gilded belt.

It’s a stark contrast to what the Thai superstar sported when he took to the streets. He made a splash with his ‘tattoos:’ a snake here, an anime character there, and the words ‘Il Ballo Della Vita’ on his chest. 

But make no mistake—he didn’t get inked overnight. Win chose a Diesel top to get drenched in for the summer festivities. Creative director Glenn Martens worked with Damiano David, the frontman of Italian rock band Måneskin, on a gender-liberating capsule collection, which included this tattoo-print top. 

The tattoos are inspired by Damiano’s actual ink. And that Italian phrase? It’s the title of Måneskin’s debut studio album, and it translates to ‘the dance of life.’

A top that clings like second skin is already a striking look in itself, but that didn’t stop Win from spicing it up even more: denim pants with a palm tree print, two statement belts and silver bling, and a practical North Face x Supreme vest in a camouflage, almost-psychedelic print. Now that’s being stylishly prepared to get wet and wild. 

Jeff Satur chooses comfort with an edge

Meanwhile, as the night went on at ICONSIAM, another fashion icon took to the stage: headliner Jeff Satur and his cut-out white shirt, showing just the right amount of skin. 

At one point, he also layered with a crocheted yellow top, which exuded a homey vibe. Jeff finished the full look with baggy trousers, which was a comfortable and practical choice given that had to work the crowd all night, which he did with his electrifying performances.

Just recently, we wrote about how Thailand’s leading the charge in revolutionizing men’s style in Southeast Asia (and the world, we dare say), and these two superstars are very much part of that movement. And yes, they can do it even while they’re completely soaked.
