Check Out the 6 Southeast Asian Shores That Made It to the World’s 50 Best Beaches This Year
Southeast Asia’s top beach is in the Philippines—and no, it’s not Boracay

Thousands of beach and travel aficionados all over the world have now spoken: the 2025 list of The World’s 50 Best Beaches is now out. This year, Southeast Asia has six stunning shores on the list, with two making it to the top ten.
Entalula Beach

The Philippines’ Entalula Beach, located in a secluded portion of El Nido, Palawan, places second in the top 50. This effectively makes it the best in Southeast Asia. Limestone cliffs contrast with Entalula’s white sands, clear waters, and lush coral reefs.
Accessible only by boat, Entalula Beach is a tranquil spot for swimming and snorkeling—a great fit for those who want to be alone in nature.
Bang Bao Beach

Thailand’s Bang Bao Beach follows closely behind at third place. Within the serene island of Koh Kood, Bang Bao is enveloped by a lush jungle and clear, shallow waters. A fishing village adds to the charm of the beach, where tourists can enjoy fresh seafood and stroll lazily by the pier.
Pink Beach

Its name speaks for itself—that distinct hue is caused by a combination of white sand and red coral fragments. Located within Komodo National Park in Indonesia, Pink Beach is more than just a visual feast. It supports rich marine life, making it a great spot to dive or snorkel in. These factors make it the 13th best beach in the world.
Pulau Palambak

Just off the coast of Sumatra, Indonesia is Pulau Palambak, which is completely devoid of resorts or developments. Offering a more intimate experience of Indonesian nature, the coconut tree-covered island has winding jungle paths that lead you to white sand beaches—the shores that placed it 27th on the list.
Freedom Beach

Away from bustling and busy Phuket is Freedom Beach, which is accessible either by a small boat or a half-hour trek through a lush jungle. In this Thai paradise, verdant hills and blue waters flank its soft white sand, and without any strong waves, Freedom Beach is as calm as it gets—good enough for 28th place.
Bon Bon Beach

The island of Romblon isn’t the first place that comes to mind when you think ‘Philippine beaches,’ but it lands 37th on the list with Bon Bon Beach. The shore is best visited at low tide, where a sandbar connects the beach to the nearby Bangug Island. Unspoiled and quiet, Bon Bon Beach still has pristine sands and clear waters—a serene paradise that is still under the radar.
Where’s Boracay, Bali, and the usual suspects?
You’ve probably noticed that the words ‘quiet,’ ‘serene,’ and ‘secluded’ (and related words) appeared more than once in this article. As it stands, the experts who curated the list this year prioritized beaches that were untouched, pristine, and more often idyllic than chaotic.
That also explains why destinations like Boracay and Bali aren’t here. Not that they’ve fallen from grace, mind you. It’s just that this list wanted to look at Earth’s stunning shores in a different light.
Would you spend the chillest day of life in these beaches?
