Green Flag Spotted—Theo Jang is Midway Through Filming in the Philippines
The breakout star of Single’s Inferno is back in Southeast Asia for a film project bringing the Philippines and South Korea closer together

Theo as a bridge of cultures
Just a few days ago, Theo Jang was spotted under the sweltering heat in Aurora, a mountainous province north of Manila in the Philippines.
But he isn’t taking a leisurely vacation. The Singles Inferno standout is in the thick of shooting Finding Santos, a film that touches upon 65 years of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and South Korea.
Theo already hinted at this project when he shot for VMAN Southeast Asia last February. “I think it’s important to tell stories like this,” Theo says, referring to the military cooperation of the two countries during the Korean War. “History connects us in ways we don’t always realize.”

It’s also the reason why Theo took the time to meet and speak with a few Filipino war veterans last week. “Through this film, we hope to convey our heartfelt gratitude and to raise greater awareness of the historic contribution made by the Philippines, which sent 7,420 soldiers to aid South Korea during the war,” he wrote on Instagram.
Theo’s global ambition
Shooting in the Philippines is part of Theo’s goal: to make it big on the global stage. In 2024, he starred in Oppa, a Malaysian crime thriller exploring the dangers of online love scams.
For his performance, he won the Best Foreign Language Film Actor award at the 2024 Asia International Film Festival.

More than just acting internationally, he wants to diversify his skill set as an artist: to work in different languages, to take on more challenging roles—a musician in a historical drama, he previously mentioned as an example—and more.
Suffice to say, beyond Finding Santos, we can expect bigger and grander things from our resident green flag.
