Thailand’s Gym Bros Swear By These Cool Fitness Studios in Bangkok
From award-winning facilities to the training grounds of champions, here are five places in Bangkok where you can get a great workout
Train like a champ
While Muay Thai still stands as a strong cultural tradition and a popular physical endeavor in Bangkok, many gyms in the city are now turning into hubs that prioritize functional fitness, community-driven classes, and friendly competitions that encourage camaraderie and progress.
Going beyond solo trainer-trainee sessions, these studios are converting workouts into social events, allowing people of all fitness levels to enjoy the benefits of exercise that feels like play.
If you find yourself within Bangkok and are in need of a dynamic workout, make sure to check out these cool gyms:
Petchyindee Kingdom
Founded in 1976, Petchyindee Kingdom has produced some of Thailand’s most legendary boxers, including martial artist Sagat Petchyindee, widely renowned as the country’s greatest Muay Thai fighter of all time. The trophies and belts of these victors are proudly displayed in the gym.
Pros and amateurs alike are welcome to train in the facility, blending traditional techniques with modern amenities and exercises accommodating all fitness levels.
BASE Bangkok Gym
Heralded as Bangkok’s ‘Best Gym’ and Asia’s ‘Gym of the Year,’ BASE combines a blend of high intensity interval training (HIIT) and strength training with data-driven monitoring to track your progress and motivate you further to crush your fitness goals.
Both group classes and personal training sessions are available, and they’ve also recently introduced the BASE Games, where teams of two compete to finish five strength and conditioning workout stations in the best time possible.
It’s also the gym of choice of VMAN Southeast Asia’s July 2025 digital cover star, English-Thai actor Tayme Thapthimthong.
CUBIC Fitness
Described as a high-performance social club, CUBIC Fitness offers a diverse range of group workouts, from HIIT, indoor cycling, strength-building, to Pilates, and they also conduct physiotherapy sessions for those recovering from injuries.
A three-time ClassPass Best Studio and Instructor awardee, CUBIC also engages their community with themed classes and competitions, including HYROX training, Songkran fitness challenges, and more.
Training Ground Bangkok
Training Ground is a famous CrossFit facility and Bangkok’s largest functional fitness gym. Founded in 2013, the center boasts over 40 cardio machines, enough room for classes of 24 to still have their own personal space, and a dedicated team of coaches who prioritize community and camaraderie as key components to holistic fitness.
The Movement Playground
As Thailand’s first hybrid obstacle course training hub and parkour center, The Movement Playground is heaven for the young at heart. But it’s anything but child’s play: it is still physically challenging to climb, vault, jump, dive, and conquer obstacles, but the coaches are well-equipped to harness your strength, agility, and creativity in solving the courses.
