Chef Frances Tariga Opens Taglish on Jupiter Street

- Michelin-recognized Chef Frances Tariga has officially opened Taglish, a seafood-and-steakhouse concept located on Jupiter Street in Makati.
- Positioned beside her acclaimed tasting-menu restaurant Tadhana, Taglish blends the energy of local dampa markets and ihawans with refined steakhouse hospitality.
- Highlights include an expansive raw bar program, a custom Lumpia Bar, and Filipino reimaginations of classic steakhouse sides.
A world-class steakhouse rooted in local identity
Makati’s dining scene has welcomed a bold addition with the official opening of Taglish, located in the Levanto Building along Jupiter Street. Created by Michelin-recognized Chef Frances Tariga, the new restaurant brings an unapologetically Filipino perspective to the classic steakhouse format.

Sitting directly adjacent to Tadhana, Chef Tariga’s intimate tasting-menu destination, Taglish operates with a lively, social atmosphere designed for business lunches, celebratory family dinners, and late-night drinks.
Rather than replicating traditional Western steakhouses, the menu draws direct inspiration from the Philippines’ vibrant dampa seafood markets and neighborhood ihawans.
“Taglish is about honoring the food we grew up with while giving it the stage it deserves”
“We aren’t trying to imitate a New York steakhouse. We’re asking what a world-class steakhouse would look like if it had always existed in Manila. Every side dish, every sauce, every piece of seafood, and every lumpia tells that story.”
Archipelago-sourced seafood and rewritten steakhouse classics
The core seafood program features local catches and premium international ingredients, including freshly shucked oysters, raw bar displays, live shellfish, whole market fish, and seasonal kinilaw with native vinegars, calamansi, and fermented local flavors.
The kitchen translates traditional steakhouse side dishes into distinctly Filipino comfort foods such as Kangkong Laing with Gorgonzola, replacing traditional creamed spinach with coconut milk, taro leaves, and blue cheese
Interactive dining at the lumpia bar
A signature highlight of the Taglish experience is The Lumpia Bar, an interactive tribute to the iconic Filipino snack. Every roll is filled to order with a choice of fresh kinilaw, seafood, sisig, kare-kare, or lechon, offering a customizable centerpiece for the table.
To complement the kitchen, the beverage program features savory cocktails, Japanese whiskies, sake, and premium wines curated to pair seamlessly across raw bar, steak, and dessert courses.
